Training Israeli Mental Health Professionals
Part III: Focus on Sleep Quality and Sleep Fragmentation
This installment is the third and final of the series with a focus on sleep physiology and how it is fragmented in mental health patients, especially among those traumatized. This lecture provides the most detailed information of all three presentations as it goes into depth on such factors as the role of REM sleep in trauma recovery, the impact of trauma and sleep-disordered breathing on REM sleep, the role of advanced PAP machines in treating trauma survivors with sleep breathing disorders, and early interventions to access when PAP is not an option or PAP is delayed for months by healthcare snafus.
